Canton is a large province. There would be ranges in 1 or 2 big cities to shoot, but if he does not live in a major city there would not likely be a range or a coach in the area.

  • I am an Archery Instructor in Germany, I teach this by MBB Manching, and am registered by the BSSB, also FITA.
My question:- I teach a really talented young Boy, He lives in Kanton, but he tells me there is not the possiblity practist in his home Town. This would be a shame, as He seems to have a natural talent to shoot well and with good style. I am sure with a good Coach, He would bring honour to Chinese Sport.

    Hi Glenn,
I'm sorry, we are not authorized to answer similar questions. If you are familiar with Chinese (not English), the following information from China's Ministry of public security is only for your reference.

    http://www.mps.gov.cn/n16/n1312/n2235943/2565954.html

Attention: Do NOT to purchase, possession, shipping, use/play any crossbow in China. This is strictly prohibited by China law.

Welcome to China. And many friends (including many exchange students) can bring or take their traditional or modern archery to or from China freely. They said "these are our Sports Equipment "
    Enjoy your time.

I just brought in 3 compound bows in China yesterday. It is not a problem to hand carry 1 or 2 bows. What city will you be teaching in? If you need anything let us know. We are a dealer of all major US brands in China, but there are also a lot of great archery clubs in most every major city that can help as well.

  • Hi there,
My family and I are all into archery. We are thinking of going to China to teach English, and we would like to bring in at least one recurve and one longbow and some aluminum and wood target arrows. Can we do this? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
    Regards,
    Glenn

  • You can carry in a recurve or compound bow without any problems into China. Have done it several times and never been asked a question by airport security.
